PG Creative is a full-service advertising agency that works with various types of clients, from small companies to large corporations, creating everything from a simple logo or website to a national advertising campaign. The company was founded by Yvi Garcia and Maritza Pensado in 2002. One of its largest clients is Black & Decker Latin America, which includes the brands DeWalt, Porter Cable and Delta for whom they design packaging and collateral materials for all of Latin America. Locally, the company recently completed a television and radio campaign for HealthSun Health Plans and designed the company’s
membership communication pieces. PG Creative also focuses on doing creative work for several non-profit drug and alcohol prevention organizations throughout the state of Florida, and in California and Indiana. Among these projects are two statewide prevention campaigns for Florida that the agency landed in 2008.
The company has won several awards for its projects. In February 2009, PG Creative was awarded a total of 16 awards at the Miami Advertising Federation’s ADDY Awards, which included sweeping the public service campaign category.
We sat down with PG Creative partners Yvonne Garcia and Maritza Pensado and they answered the following questions.
What makes your company unique and what sets your company apart from your competitors?
We are a small agency that can deliver big agency results. Some larger companies tend to overlook smaller agencies because they feel that they won’t get the same quality of work as in a larger one. But the fact is that we used to work at those larger agencies heading up the large accounts, so you get the same quality without the high price tag. With today’s economy, a smaller agency like PG Creative is a great solution to a shrinking marketing budget.
What has helped your company be successful?
We have been successful because we value our clients’ business. We take a hands-on approach and treat every account with the same importance, no matter how big or small. Even though we have grown significantly over the years landing larger clients, we have made it a point to continue giving each of our clients the same personalized service. Most of our clients have been with us for years.
What is each partner’s role or what strengths does each partner bring to the company?
Yvi is a very conceptual thinker, while Maritza is a bit more analytical. Our different approaches compliment each other very well when tackling a marketing problem. We’re able to deliver creative executions that not only grab the customer’s attention, but meet our clients’ marketing objectives.
Why did you get certified?
We got certified in order to help grow our company and to get business opportunities that we might not ordinarily have access to. As a small, minority business, it is sometimes difficult to make connections with larger companies. We felt that getting certified would open doors for us and help us make the connections that can take our company to the next level.
